Nothing Else was created at AUT University from MPhil research on sustainable consumption by Dave Brown. Dave’s research found shoppers are moving towards authentic and transparent food labeling and he wanted to find a simple solution for consumers who were confused by too much product information.
Nothing Else started with small snacks and bottled water followed by ANZAC biscuits launched across AUT cafes from 2009.
In 2011 Dave worked with Professor of Nutrition Elaine Rush of AUT and Mary Yan, a PhD candidate, to develop a health bar with no more than eight natural ingredients.
By 2015 the Low GI bar was developed in partnership with AB Foods, a large contract manufacturer based in Mangere. After more trials the Low GI bar was commercially available in two flavours and has been a sales favourite in AUT cafes.
For the past three years our Low GI bars have been sold exclusively through four AUT cafes. We are currently working hard to scale production for widespread sales. Meanwhile our new bars are available in limited numbers for ordering online. Enjoy.
